APC by Schneider Electric Extends Critical Power and Cooling Service Capabilities to Saudi Arabia

UPS Major Commits to Support Country’s Growing Number of Data Centre Customers Achieve Optimum Efficiency and Conserve Energy Costs

Dubai: 26 December, 2010 APC by Schneider Electric, the global leader in integrated critical power and cooling services, today announced it will extend its data centre service capabilities to Saudi Arabia as part of its commitment to support the operation and maintenance of Tier-3 and Tier-4 data centres in the country.
With energy costs rising, it is vital for executives to employ the appropriate Services, tools & techniques to improve energy efficiency & control costs across organisations. Saudi Arabia has proved to be a very encouraging market for APC by Schneider Electric in the Middle East & this has lead to some leading investments in the region. Hence, APC’s in house technical experts in Cooling and Power services are now ready to support Operations and Maintenance of installed Tier 3 and 4 Datacenters in the Kingdom & are now available 24/7 on a call basis.
APC’s move comes in response to the dominant market position that Saudi Arabia enjoy in the Middle East. It also reflects APC’s endeavour to help organisations in the region control their rising energy costs.
According to a Gartner report, energy-related costs account for around 12 per cent of overall data centre expenditure and firms are struggling to cap this spending. The report also indicates that power and cooling costs are likely to increase further over the next few years as organisations expand their technology infrastructure in the post-recession phase.
Jeff De Sousa, Country Vice-President, APC by Schneider Electric, Saudi Arabia, said: “Since the establishment of our offices in Saudi Arabia three years ago, we have tried to provide high class after-sales support that guarantees customer satisfaction. After investing in sales and marketing functions to support operations, we aim to lead the market by offering service capabilities and software management for small, medium and extra-large data centres. This is to support the demand for the large number of mission critical data centres complementing APC’s InfrastruXure architecture.”
Proactive maintenance minimises data centre downtime and APC’s team of technical experts will offer round-the-clock services for troubleshooting and emergency repair.
De Sousa added: “The InfrastruXure architecture offers highly scalable and adaptable next-generation data centers, which enable virtualisation and cloud computing. We see this as a tremendous opportunity to not only manage our installed base of consumers, but also expand our market share.”
