Registration starts for 'Yalla Walk – Every Step is a Reward'

Registration of participants in “Yalla Walk – Every Step is a Reward” initiative will start on Monday Dubai: The registration of participants in “Yalla Walk – Every Step is a Reward” initiative, which was announced by Dubai Municipality last week, will start on Monday (July 25).The registrations can be done on the website www.yallawalk.com or the walking tracks of Al Safa, Al Mamzar, Al Barsha, Al Khawaneej and Zabeel Parks.The initiative supported by Al Maktoum Foundation and Al Fattan Properties will kick off at the beginning of Ramadan in the public parks of Dubai. The move is aimed at educating the public about healthy habits during Ramadan, raising charity funds and encouraging people to walk in any of walking tracks across Dubai.The launch of this initiative came after the good results and reputation of past Yalla Walk campaigns, organized by the civic body and widely acclaimed by all participants. This initiative is expected to be the largest awareness campaign that attracts the public to the walking tracks, in the Emirate of Dubai.Article continues belowThe Yalla Walk initiative was established to promote walking, as an easy and economic way to stay fit and healthy that people can easily apply into their day-to-day life. The municipality has provided residents with safe and accessible walking tracks in both urban and rural contexts.Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality said the initiative aims to help the needy people and promote walking as well as to support charity under the slogan “Each step is a Reward’, and the doors are open for institutions and individuals to help raise the charity fund by supporting the municipality in this initiative.Participants can raise the funds allocated by the municipality and its partners by merely walking. The more participants collectively walk at any of the walking tracks; the more funds are raised for the charity.DetailsDistances will be recorded on individual pedometers, supplied to participants upon initial registration to use during the walking.
