DM launches unified e-service for building permits

Dubai Municipality has recently announced the launch of unified e-service for building permits in
partnership with a number of government and semi government departments and organizations.
The service is related with approvals and procedures for building permits in Dubai.

It has been launched by departments affiliated under the Committee For Improving Building
Permits Procedures, which was formed the past year, headed by Eng. Khalid Mohammed Saleh Al
Mulla Director of Buildings Department and membership of DEVA, Civil Defence, RTA , CAA, Etisalat
and du. A number of major developers in the Emirate such as Emaar, Dubai Land, DIP, and DIC also
participated.

Mohamed Abdul Karim Julfar, Assistant Director General for Corporate Support Services spoke
at the meeting held on the launching occasion attended by representatives from all government
departments and developers as well as consulting offices working in the emirate.

He praised the efforts of all participants in the project, which led to the development of licensing
procedures and reducing the number of steps required from dealers as well as to unify the place of
service.

“The unified service would relieve consultants and contractors from approaching many
departments and multiple transactions in different systems, and it would provide support to
investors, facilitate their transactions and reduce cost of investment,” he added.

The seminar associated with the service announcement explained the mechanism of using unified
electronic system, and its working mechanism, which saves time and effort using a unified system
rather than multiple electronic systems.

Yusuf Abdullah Acting Director of Buildings Department said that this stage includes consolidation
of 11 services at Dubai Municipality and provides as one single service, which will be studied by all
departments at the same time within a standardized period.

This is the first phase and will be followed by subsequent stages to unify services in the stages of
implementation, completion certificate and service delivery of buildings.
