CDA receives delegation from Indian Consulate in Dubai


Dubai, 24 January, 2011: The Human Rights Sector in the Community Development Authority (CDA)
recently received the Indian Consul General in Dubai His Excellency Sanjay Verma. The visit was
part of enhancing relations between CDA and diplomatic representatives of the various expatriate
communities in Dubai.

The meeting addressed ways to strengthen mutual cooperation and discussed current conditions of
the Indian community in Dubai. The Consul-General also praised the laws and regulations issued in
the UAE and Dubai to safeguard human rights.

Dr. Al Suwaidi explained to the visitors the vision and objectives of the Human Rights Sector and its
services to the Dubai community. The delegates were also briefed on the Sector's role in guarding
human rights and implementing the principles of justice and equality in line with the vision of His
Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and
Ruler of Dubai, to build a cohesive society.

"The Human Rights sector in CDA seeks to cooperate and coordinate with like-minded institutions,
especially those working to protect human rights and ensure justice and equality. Such co-
operation will help us improve our services, eventually taking us towards fulfilling our objectives"
said Dr. Al Suwaidi.
