Prime Minister of Malaysia Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak uses visit to see the visible progress of Masdar City and to explore further collaboration between the two nations
Abu Dhabi, 31 January 2011: Today, the Prime Minister of Malaysia Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak visited the Masdar Institute campus at Masdar City, to see firsthand the momentum and progress of Abu Dhabi’s world-renowned, sustainable and cutting-edge urban development. The Prime Minister also met with Dr Sultan Al Jaber, CEO and managing director of Masdar, to discuss how the two nations can collaborate to innovate and commercialise renewable energy and clean technologies.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, said: “Abu Dhabi has emerged as a leading global hub for innovations in renewable energy, clean technology and the environment. The world is waiting, as the bold Masdar initiative discovers a roadmap to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy and provide practical and scalable solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow. Abu Dhabi and Masdar are advancing global progress and tackling the critical energy challenges our world faces. Malaysia applauds these efforts.”
Dr Sultan Al Jaber, CEO and managing director of Masdar, said: “It is an honour and a privilege to welcome the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Abu Dhabi and Masdar City. This visit underscores the global recognition of the vision of the leadership of the UAE embodied by Masdar as an innovator in renewable energy and clean technology. By developing a gathering place for collaboration, and making clean energy viable, the UAE is evolving into a commercial catalyst for clean technologies globally.”
