Skywards helps lubricate the wheels of trade in Angola

DUBAI, U.A.E., 4th June 2009 - Emirates' Skywards members are being given the chance to earn up to triple miles on flights to Luanda throughout August, the airline's first new destination in 2009.

Flights to Angola begin on August 2nd. They will run three times a week - on a Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, EK 791 will depart Dubai at 1000hrs, arriving at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport in Angola at 1500hrs.

EK792 departs Luanda on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 1800hrs, touching down in Dubai at 0510hrs the following day.

When Skywards members travel on EK 791 and EK 792, they will earn double Skywards miles in Economy class and triple miles in Business and First class for the month of August.

Bookings must be made before August 31st for travel between August 2nd to August 31st.

Brian LaBelle, Senior Vice President, Skywards, said: "We expect Luanda to be a popular business route, along with construction and oil-related passenger traffic and cargo - and what better way to lubricate the wheels of trade than to offer attractive incentives through Skywards, Emirates' frequent flyer programme."

Luanda is the first of two new destinations which the airline has announced for Africa this year. The second is Durban, set to launch on October 1st.

Skywards membership crossed the four million mark in the 2008/9 financial year with a new member enrolling every 41 seconds.

In Emirates' Terminal 3, Skywards Silver members travelling in Economy Class now have a special check-in service.

Skywards membership gives two easy and direct ways to earn miles - through flights with Emirates, partner airlines and through Skywards' non-flight partners, such as Le Meridien, Jumeirah, Citibank, Hertz, Damas, InterContinental Hotels.
