Etisalat hosts Telecom trends forum for SMB customers


Dubai, June 18,2009 : Etisalat today hosted an exclusive event for SMB (Small & medium businesses) to showcase the latest telecom trends & solutions and how ICT (Information & Communication technologies) can deliver the impetus to create lasting business value and remain more competitive in a challenging economic environment .

Attendees at the forum heard from Etisalat‘s partner Avaya about how Avaya's Unified Communications for Small Business provides employees with communications tools that let them communicate anytime, anywhere. Avaya demonstrated communication capabilities needed to keep mobile employees productive at all times while maintaining maximum operational efficiency.

Mobilizing corporate email with ease with the Nokia Mail for Exchange solution through Etisalat was also a featured topic at the forum from Nokia. SMB customers using the Microsoft Exchange Server can set up Nokia Mail for Exchange for free on the Nokia devices without paying for additional integration fees, using the email set-up plug-in on the mobile home screen. Once the application is set up, users get real-time access to their office email, calendar, contacts, tasks and company directory over a secure connection. The service can be accessed through Etisalat with a monthly subscription at 195 AED per month for unlimited email and Internet access with a fair cap of 1GB.

In terms of Business mobility, participants at the forum also heard from Research in Motion, about the value of business mobility, and how it can help small and medium companies differentiate themselves by being more reachable, and efficient in their communications by enabling both personal and business information to be accessible whenever andwherever it is needed, as well as allow the user to take control of whenand how they use and respond to that information.

For SMB customers, Etisalat also provides a B2B Solution which is a customized online interface between Etisalat & its customers allowing them to carry out all transactions with Etisalat online. The solution allows customers to apply for services online and saves time & effort in checking, auditing and paying for the services.
