DTCM AND RTA DISCUSS LIBRARY SERVICES AND E-ARCHIVING SYSTEM

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has recently hosted a delegation from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) who were briefed about the library services and E-Archiving system in place.

The team was received by Mr. Ahmed Al Feel, Head of Administration Services at DTCM, and Nabila Mukhtar, Administration Assistant, Archive & Library, DTCM.

The delegation members toured the facility and were briefed about DTCM Library’s services like books borrowing and the electronic library. The DTCM officials discussed with the RTA delegation about how to set-up their new library based on the DTCM experience.

The delegation reported that RTA was keen on strengthening relationships with DTCM Library and discussed some aspects that can be achieved. The delegation members were presented with brochures and giveaways.

The department has contributed towards the establishment of an educational library for Dubai Club for Special Sports. A DTCM delegation visited the club recently and provided the library with a collection of books. The department will extend cooperation to the club in expanding the exchange of knowledge and develop the facility at their end.

In March this year, DTCM Library won the Golden Shield Award at the Sharjah Used Book Festival organised by the Sharjah City of Humanitarian Services. DTCM Library is working towards dissemination of book culture and development and strengthening of the spirit of volunteerism in the community.

Mr. Ahmed Al Feel said the visits comes in line with the efforts of the DTCM to share its expertise with other organizations, both in public and private sector, in various domains, especially library services and e-Archiving system.
