Dubai Municipality honors 521 labourers


The Human Resources Department of Dubai Municipality on Thursday honored 521 labourers
as part of the International Worker’s Day Festival, which is being celebrated from 1-30 May. The
ceremony was organized in Dubai Men’s College auditorium at Academic City.

Having inaugurated the honoring ceremony Mr. Khalid Ali Bin Zayed, Director of Human Resources
Department said that Dubai Municipality has been always keen to ensure better sustainable work
environment for its employees and labors giving priority to their requirements and occupational
rights prior to assess their duties and responsibilities.

“In the coming years, we will exert our maximum efforts to establish a more sustainable working
environment in line with modernized international working standards” he added.

Bin Zayed with other senior officials from the concerned departments distributed gifts to 521
distinctive labourers from different departments.

The various activities of the month long festival are sponsored by Western Union Money
Transfer, Lipton Yellow Label Tea, Clear Anti Dandruff Shampoo and Canadian Hospital with the
media partnership of Zee TV and Zee Cinema and managed by Right Track Advertising.

The events also include daily lectures from 5:30 pm until 6:30 pm, educational awareness
programs, religious competitions, cultural, social, religious and recreational activities, as well
as a program to teach Tajweed every weekends, sports tournaments. The topics of lectures
include "HIV" presented by Dubai Police Headquarters, "Human Resources Services", "Summer
Diseases / Vaccines", "Food Safety" and "Accommodation Hygiene Monitoring" and a number of
religious lectures, including "Sincere Work", "Tidiness and Prayer", "charity" and "Blessed Life."
