ENOC and the Ministry of Labour sign MoU to develop occupational health skills



Dubai, UAE; May 2, 2011: Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) and the Ministry of Labour
in Dubai have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further strengthen the
occupational health and safety practices of both organisations.

Dr Aisha Butti Bin Bishr, Director of Services and Support Affairs., Ministry of Labour, and Saif
Al Falasi, Executive Director of Environment, Health, Safety and Quality (EHSQ) and Corporate
Affairs of ENOC, signed the agreement.

The MoU provides the framework for ENOC and the Ministry of Labour to cooperate in planning
and executing a number of knowledge sharing initiatives on occupational health, including joint
training programmes, awareness campaigns educational seminars and workshops as well as
community initiatives.

Saif Al Falasi said the MoU is part of ENOC’s strategy to constantly develop its skills and
knowledge pool in all areas related to health and safety. “The partnership is part of ENOC’s
corporate social responsibility commitment, and aims at educating and raising awareness on
occupational health and safety amongst all stakeholders. It will be marked by mutual knowledge
transfer in all key areas of occupational health, and its benefits in creating a healthy and
productive work place. We will also jointly explore community campaigns that will strengthen
public awareness on health and safety issues.”

“We are honoured to partner with the ENOC, which has an accomplished track-record in
environment, health and safety practices. The MoU will significantly elevate the knowledge and
skill sets of both ENOC and Ministry of Labour staff in occupational health and safety, and in
turn contribute to the welfare of the employees”, said Dr. Bishr.
