An Audi unlike any other: The Audi A1 arrives in Dubai

Dubai, May 01, 2011 – Audi is entering a new vehicle class with the new Audi
A1 arriving to Dubai and the northern Emirates this month. The compact A1
condenses all of the virtues of the brand with the four rings – a progressive
design, uncompromising quality and groundbreaking efficiency – within a space
of less than four meters.

Audi celebrates the launch of the next big Audi with the Audi AreA1 from April
28th to May 4th at The Burj Steps between Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall, in
front of The Dubai Fountain. Activities include A1 drive experiences with certified
Audi instructors, a live broadcast by Virgin Radio Dubai 104.4’s drive show
announcer Brent Black and a competition to win the chance to drive the new Audi
A1 for a year as well as other great prizes. The lucky winners were Hadi Ammar
and Mirna Isaam Abi Haidar with their daughter Tamara.

K. Rajaram, CEO of Al Nabooda Automobiles, commented "The A1 is a modern
city car especially for the young generation. We thought it’s only fitting that the
next big Audi is celebrated in style at Dubai’s tallest landmark, Burj Khalifa. We
would like to thank Emaar for the opportunity and wish all visitors lots of fun with
our new Audi A1.”

Its highly modern design integrates the A1 into the Audi family. The large single-
frame grille, the distinctive roof arch and coupe-like C-pillars are among its
defining style elements. The interior of the A1 is surprisingly spacious, bright
and airy. The attention lavished on numerous details underscores the premium
character of the A1 while innovative materials and modern colors emphasize the
youthful character of the A1. Whether colored air vents, LED interior lights or seat
covers in expressive colors – customization is the key. There are even a variety
of paint finishes from which to choose for the roof arch.

The available infotainment and multimedia systems of the Audi A1 come directly
from the luxury class. The top of the line is MMI navigation plus, a media center
that sets new standards in the compact segment and borrows from the system
used in Audi’s new A8 flagship.

The newest Audi is always great fun to drive thanks to its sporty setup. Audi is
rolling out the new model with a 122 hp four-cylinder 1.4 TFSI engine, which
impresses with exemplary fuel economy - a standard cycle value of 5.3 liters per
100 kilometers. It follows the downsizing principle by substituting turbocharging
for displacement and the recuperation system further helps to provide the
efficiency that comes standard in the Audi A1.

The Audi A1 starts from only AED 89,900 and is available as of now. As a
standard for the Middle East it comes with especially developed super hot
country settings, 4 years / 60.000 km service and 3 years warranty.

Long Version

Audi is entering a new vehicle class. The compact A1 condenses all of the
virtues of the brand – a progressive design, uncompromising quality and
groundbreaking efficiency – within a space of less than four meters. The
latest model to bear the four rings is dynamic and high quality, emotion-
packed and individual. Its powerful engine and the agile chassis make it the
sportiest car in the segment.

The Audi A1 is an Audi unlike any other. As a newcomer in the compact class, it
appeals to a modern customer group – a young, urban, lifestyle-oriented public.
The A1 is both a modern city car and a sporty all-rounder for an active lifestyle. It
is the first premium car in the subcompact segment – a true, fully-fledged Audi.

Its agile chassis and the powerful engine immediately move the A1 to the head
of its sporting class, and this character is evident from the very first glance.
Its highly modern design integrates the A1 into the extensive Audi family. The
front end with the large single-frame grille and LED daytime running lights, the
side line with the distinctive roof arch, the coupe-like C-pillars and the large
wheel arches are among its defining style elements. The hood and rear hatch

encompass the body; the tail lights are three dimensionally molded and are
unmistakable by day or by night.

The interior: airy and animated
The interior of the A1 is surprisingly spacious, bright and airy. The instrument
panel resembles an airplane wing; its four round air vents are reminiscent of jet
engines. The clean, clear control layout is just as much a classic Audi strength
as the high level of fit and finish. The attention lavished on numerous details
underscores the premium character of the A1. In addition to the Attraction and
Ambition trim lines, Audi also offers further packages focused on technology,
equipment and styling.

Innovative materials and modern colors emphasize the youthful character of the
A1. Whether colored air vents, LED interior lights or seat covers in expressive
colors – customization is the key. The equipment program offers countless
opportunities for matching the A1 to the driver’s own personal style. There are
even a variety of paint finishes from which to choose for the roof arch. Customers
can also order many additional customization features after the initial purchase.

The available infotainment and multimedia systems come directly from the luxury
class. The top of the line is MMI navigation plus, a media center that sets new
standards in the compact segment. It borrows from the system used in Audi’s
new A8 flagship, including the monitor that folds out from the instrument panel
and the control unit, which uses MMI logic.

The connectivity package, which is based on the concert radio, includes a
navigation system preparation for the later installation of a navigation system with
map view – another new idea. The 465 watt Bose surround sound system is just
one example of the high-end complementary modules available.

A bundle of fun: the sportiest car in its class
The agile chassis moves the A1 to the head of its class. Whether in the city, on
an interurban road or on the expressway – the newest Audi is always great fun
to drive thanks to its sporty setup, the favorable weight distribution and the direct
steering. The ESP stabilization program with electronic limited slip differential,
which comes standard on all models, makes the handling even more precise
while also enhancing driving safety.

The new A1 also sets new efficiency standards. Audi is rolling out the new
model with a 122 hp four-cylinder 1.4 TFSI engine, which follows the downsizing
principle by substituting turbocharging for displacement and drawing fuel through
direct injection units.

The Audi A1 impresses with exemplary fuel economy, with a standard cycle value
of 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers. Paired with an S tronic dual-clutch transmission,
it emits only 122 grams CO2 per kilometer. The recuperation system, which
recovers energy during braking, helps to provide the efficiency that comes
standard in the Audi A1 models.

High-tech and efficiency: the seven-speed S tronic
At Audi, efficiency always means high-tech. The sevenspeed S tronic dual-
clutch transmission shifts extremely quickly, comfortably and with no perceptible
interruption to the flow of power. It can be operated as an automatic or manually,
with paddles on the steering wheel available as an option. The seven-speed
S tronic provides for tremendously fun driving and also further reduces fuel
consumption – typical Audi features.

Many of the young A1 customers live in large cities and are interested in design,
music, fashion and sports. The base model starts from only AED 89,900.
