Lootah receives Australian Minister


Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality on Monday received John Stanhop, Chief Minister of the ACT Legislative Assembly, London Circuit, Canberra, Australia and the delegation accompanying him.
The delegation included Kym Hewett, the Consul General of Australia and Senior Trade Commissioner in Dubai, Jeremy Lasek, Chief of Staff to John Stanhop, David Dawes, Deputy Chief Executive, Business and Projects Division in the Chief Minister's Department, Canberra and Dita Hunt, Senior Manager, Enterprise Development, Business and Industry Development in the Chief Minister's Department, Canberra.
The visit comes within the framework of cooperation between Dubai Municipality and Australian cities.
The Director General of Dubai Municipality welcomed the Australian Minister and his accompanying delegation and gave them a brief on the Municipality and the services it provides to the society as well as its main projects and government services, as well as sections of the department and the number of departments and employees.
The Australian minister pointed out the remarkable growth of Dubai in the development of urban facilities and services with a sophisticated level. He praised the good reputation of the city of Dubai and the good relations it has with world cities, particularly the depth of relations between the city of Dubai and Australian cities, which had resulted in signing a twinning agreement between Dubai and Gold Coast.
The meeting emphasized the need for networking and future cooperation and exchange of expertise to benefit both the cities and to achieve progress and prosperity in various fields. Both the sides exchanged commemorative shields.
