Architectural Heritage Department at Dubai Municipality concluded the eighth session of
Heritage competition for schools students, which included a wide range of heritage activities and
contests. The closing ceremony was in the Falcons and Heritage Sports Center in Nad Al Sheba,
Dubai.
Eng. Rashad Bukhash, Director of Architectural Heritage Department said: We do not consider
this competition as a field to compete, but we consider it as a national educational program
aimed at creating a better generation who are aware of our heritage, culture and tradition
keeping pace with the modern technology and education.
Eng. Abdullah Raffia, Assistant Director General, activity in charge in the Ministry of Education
and number of judges, department heads and students participating in the program with their
families, attended the ceremony.
The ceremony started with Holy Qur’an followed by the speeches of Eng. Abdullah, Eng. Rashad
Bukhash, and representative of Ministry of Education, in addition to a set of national anthems
by Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum School. There was a program called Word of Nation by
National School Dubai, Al Barsha.
The winners were honoured, taken group photo and accompanied to talk briefly about their
work to the Committee members who provided them with support and encouragement.
