Sharjah Media Centre Participates at ITB Berlin

Aims to Position Sharjah as Leading Global Tourist Destination Sharjah-UAE: 6 March, 2012 – Sharjah Media Centre, the communications arm of the government of Sharjah, is participating at ITB Berlin, the world’s leading travel trade show.Scheduled to run from 7-11 March in Berlin, ITB Berlin is a business to business platform that offers an excellent opportunity to network and do business. For retail visitors, it is a wonderful possibility to discover the world within a few hours. In 2011, the event attracted more than 11,000 exhibitors and 180,000 visitors. His Excellency Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmad Al Qassimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Corporation, will head Sharjah Media Centre’s delegation to ITB Berlin with a view to positioning Sharjah as a global tourist destination and promoting cultural exchange and stronger communication ties between Berlin and Sharjah. During the show, His Excellency Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmad will deliver a presentation highlighting Sharjah’s proposition as a tourist destination, its cultural values and the latest developments in the emirate. His Excellency Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmad Al Qassimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Corporation, said: “ITB Berlin is a leading international travel event. The show will act as a gateway to the global community allowing Sharjah to showcase its cultural, political, economic, tourist, and social landscape.
