Khalid Mohammed Shareef, Director of Food Control Department at Dubai Municipality received Mr. Diep Kinh Tan, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and an accompanying delegation. The delegation was briefed on the rules and regulations and hygiene requirements for seafood trade in the UAE.
Regarding his visit, the Deputy Minister of Vietnam said, he chose the city of Dubai for its good reputation in all fields, particularly in trade as it is a vital hub for food export and import.
The two sides discussed the regulations and procedures in the field of food control, particularly in marine products safety. The Vietnamese delegation briefed DM officials on the fish trade and seafood production in the Republic of Vietnam.
Shareef explained, during a workshop, the procedures applied by Dubai Municipality based on risk assessment to ensure the quality of the product entering the emirate as per the Gulf food label specifications and standards.
