Abu Dhabi, 21 October 2009 – Etisalat reinforced its leadership position in the delivery of innovative solutions in the Middle East market, by introducing a new range of safety products and a comprehensive Safety Service that is being showcased in this year’s Gitex Exhibition. These products and solutions will be available for purchase later on in the year.
This new service is the integration of Etisalat's branded mobile telephony with the GPS technology. Kids Phone for the family safety market serves as the first product to be released amongst the product range that includes safety solutions perfectly suited to increase personal security and to improve business management and targets parents with children.
The Kids Phone service allows parents to provide their children with a controlled mobile device providing them the convenience of calling four programmed numbers and being alerted by SMS or email when their child leaves a programmed safety zone, such as school, Club or even Home.
“With the programmed emergency button, the Kids Phone provides children with the peace of mind that they can contact someone with the simple push of a button, while the parents can find the location of their child using the inbuilt GPS functions and the advanced Etisalat Safety Service”
The Kids phone and Etisalat Safety Service assists parents in knowing if their child has left an area they have determined safe, or when their child leaves school on the bus and to help them plan when to collect them. It also has great use for children with special needs such as autism, down-syndrome, etc., where the Kids Phone and the Etisalat Safety Service may provide the tools for parents to give them some independence to move around freely but safely.
Following the launch of the highly successful MobileCam at Gitex 2007, the Kids Phone and the Etisalat Safety Service extends its range of services within its ‘Safety’ portfolio. Mr. Khalifa Al Shamsi, Sr. Vice president – Consumer Marketing said: “Etisalat’s commitment in providing innovative business and home communication solutions that touch all spheres of life, is reiterated through the Etisalat Safety Service and the Kids phone is an important element of our overall Safety product mix.”
