MARC ANTHONY WEARS A MONTBLANC WATCH

At multiple events, including the Oscars Academy Awards, Hollywood superstar Marc Anthony has been

wearing his Montblanc 4810 ring, Montblanc 4810 carnivale collection ring, Montblanc Rodeo Drive time walker

Marc Anthony’s was born Marco Antonio Muniz, named after a Mexican singer by the same name. The son

of Puerto Rican immigrants, he was tutored in music and composition by his musician-father, Felipe Muniz.

Growing up among musicians, he realized early that he loved to sing and would use his family’s kitchen table

in Spanish Harlem as a platform, belting out the one song he knew.

Despite his growing fame in the Latin music world, Anthony was relatively unknown in his own country until the

1999 release of Marc Anthony, his first pop CD in English. Fueled by the compelling rhythm of the album’s first

single, “I Need to Know”, the album spent 11 weeks in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100.

Today, with over 8 million albums sold worldwide, Marc Anthony is the top selling Latin music artist of all

time. But his career doesn’t begin and end with his music. Anthony also starred on Broadway in Paul Simon’s

Capeman and on the silver screen with roles in The Substitute, Hackers, and most recently in Man on Fire

with Denzel Washington. And, of course, there are his two marriages. The first, to a former Miss Universe,

Dayanara Torres, ended in divorce and was swiftly followed by his current tabloid-worthy marriage to Jennifer

Lopez. Recently he was included in a top ten list of influential New Yorkers compiled by New York Magazine.

or location. However, for most of these clients the journey to the final results is the most enjoyable
part and they love to personally come to the Montblanc ateliers as often as possible switching off

clients bring exceptional material that stands for a special personal meaning and that they want the
Montblanc craftsmen to include in their very own “bespoke piece”. This can mean a bunch of stones
or other challenging material for which the Montblanc craftsmen are then creating special solutions
in collaboration with the clients. This extraordinary experience is what these Montblanc clients enjoy
the most and this is why they appreciate this time they spend there and working together with the
Montblanc craftsmen so much.

Moreover, these “bespoke” masterpieces are, in the truest sense of the word, unique and precious
examples of most sophisticated craftsmanship. Possessors of such an unusual work of art have the
guarantee that there will be only one writing instrument, watch or jewellery piece like theirs worldwide.

MONTBLANC SUPPORTS THE YOUNG DIRECTORS PROJECT

For the ninth time in succession, the MONTBLANC YOUNG DIRECTORS PROJECT took place as part of the Salzburg Festival 2010. The MONTBLANC YOUNG DIRECTORS AWARD is endowed with prize money amounting to €10,000 and the Montblanc Max Reinhardt Pen, which was exclusively designed for this project.

The theatre project was again sponsored entirely by the International Culture Brand Montblanc. As in previous years, the sale of the Salzburg special edition “Hommage à Max Reinhardt” generated additional sponsorship funds and, once again, allowed a fourth production to be staged.

For this year’s competition, Dr. Thomas Oberender, Artistic Director of the Salzburg Festival, and Martine Dennewald, Curator, selected four young directors and their ensembles from the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany. The nominees were:

The Swedish-born director Jakop Ahlbom, who has worked in the Netherlands for several years, with INNENSCHAU – a theatre thriller, a journey under the surface of the human psyche into a realm of secret wishes and bizarre fantasies which are revealed in layers during the performance to become more and more visible until the audience are left sitting in the dark – swallowed by the unfathomableness of a strange world.

Sylvain Creuzevault and his company d’ores et déjà from Paris with their production NOTRE TERREUR – a play about how the theatre can look at and contemplate the terror of the French Revolution. The play shows the incredible willpower of Robespierre and his fellow members of the revolutionary government in their attempts to reinvent democracy, but also focuses on their desperation at failing in the face of the revolution’s ideals.

Angela Richter from Germany with TOD IN THEBEN, a play written by the Norwegian author Jon Fosse, which comprises the three great tragedies about the rise and fall of King Oedipus, his exile on Colonus and the dire fate of his daughter Antigone in a terse drama of great emotional density. Angela Richter sets this most primeval of family dramas inside a light installation in which the mythical protagonists Oedipus and Antigone appear and make us question our concepts of blame, silence and solitude, and examine what they mean for our contemporary world.

Claude Schmitz from Brussels with MARY MOTHER OF FRANKENSTEIN – a piece about the old dream of creating a human being in our own image. The show presents a living nightmare which narrates the life and works of the author of Frankenstein, Mary Shelley, and also references the incredible pace of biotechnology we are witnessing today.

The Young Directors Award 2010 is unanimously given to Sylvain Creuzevault and his company d’ores et déjà. With NOTRE TERREUR, the jury values in particular the impressive performance of an accomplished ensemble in which the actors are turned into co-directors and the director himself becomes a primus inter pares. The company has made the story of the French Revolution and its implications for the present accessible for youthful enthusiasm; they show the failure of the highest ideals and the dangers of a dictatorship of the virtuous. The company succeeded with sparse means and in direct contact with the audience, through clever use of the space and increasing dramatic force.

MONTBLANC PRESENTS THE JOHN LENNON EDITION WRITING INSTRUMENT IN DUBAI MALL

John Lennon´s overall vision was to do good for mankind and harness the power of love. With his wife Yoko Ono by his side, the couple became the embodiment of the peace movement and a powerful catalyst for social, ideological and artistic change. Songs like "Imagine" and "Give Peace a Chance" still resonate in the hearts of fans of all ages.

Hand engraved on the 18 K gold nib is the symbol of peace. At the focal point of the instrument, where the cap meets the barrel, is a silver plaque engraved with John Lennon´s self-portrait - the sketch he scribbled so often in place of a signature - which pays tribute to the memory of the edition´s namesake.

Limited to 1940 pieces, marking the year of Lennon´s birth, the John Lennon Commemoration Edition 1940 boasts a blue tansanit that crowns the guitar-inspired clip in allusion to Lennon´s famous blue glasses. The instrument features a number of symbolic engravings including the release date of the song "Imagine": 02.10.1971, as well as his self-portrait signature. In addition, the rhodium-plated, 18K gold nib bears the sign so often traced in flowers: the peace symbol. The Montblanc John Lennon Edition is available in the Montblanc flagship Boutique in Dubai Mall and all the Montblanc  Boutiques worldwide and in the Middle East.

Hand-crafted in the best European tradition, the black precious resin writing instrument is adorned with platinum plated fittings and a handcrafted14K gold nib with a rhodium-plated inlay. The idea behind the new writing instrument was to not alter the shape of the Meisterstück, but to actually enhance the object with the addition of a precious stone, the iconic Montblanc Diamond as well as the style element on the clip ring to enrich the overall design of the instrument.  The distinctive traditional white resin Montblanc star as the Montblanc emblem on the top of the writing instrument now shines as a beautiful diamond.

The Montblanc Diamond which adorns the summit of the Meisterstück Montblanc Diamond Writing Instrument, was first launched in 2006 after eight years of development. Internationally acclaimed for its unique craftsmanship and incredible sparkle, the patented 43 facet stone is masterfully carved into the shape of the Montblanc Star, the brand’s symbol representing the snowy peak of Europe’s highest mountain, the Mont Blanc. Since its launch in 1924, the Montblanc Meisterstück has become the most famous and sought after writing instrument of our time. MONTBLANC INTRODUCES NEW LEATHER COLLECTION- MEISTERSTÜCK ATELIER

Meisterstück Atelier is a new ultraluxe “connoisseur” range of Montblanc Meisterstück fine leather goods - a high end, top-tier line of men’s accessories which are finely crafted from the rarest and most precious materials in the world. The launch of the first two Meisterstück Atelier collections - Meisterstück Atelier Genuine Python in October 2010 and Meisterstück Atelier Genuine Karung in April 2011 - marks the first time Montblanc men’s leather goods have been conceived from the prized snakeskins after which these two lines derive their name and the choice of such exotic materials is apt.
Graphic snakeskin print projects a powerful, masculine allure. And while python is an eternal symbol of ultra-luxury, karung, a water snake-skin, has lately become sought-after due to the distinctive beauty of its mottled markings as well as for its exceptionally soft texture. The “first touch” of a Montblanc leather accessory is also uniquely renowned to evoke, at once, its careful tanning, robustness and workmanship. The Meisterstück Atelier collections are no exception because the feeling of python and karung both convey an inimitable richness as well as a cool, silky-smooth sumptuousness.

Genuinely Reinterpreting a Classic

Montblanc Meisterstück leather goods are modern interpretations of the world-renowned design of Meisterstück writing instruments. Thus each one is produced to conjure the meaning of its namesake and therefore be a meticulously handcrafted “masterpiece” as well as an enduring investment classic to be handed down from generation to generation, just like the original Meisterstück fountain pen. So the exquisite Meisterstück Atelier collections have been masterly crafted at Montblanc’s luxury accessories workshop in Florence by artisans highly skilled at manipulating rare skins with traditional techniques. Each stitch and every fold executed in production has been exacting and purposefully applied to render a sharp, timeless look just as the python and karung appear undyed so as to display the “genuine” pure beauty resonating from their original, vivid patterns, the natural earth toned skins and lustrous glossy finish.
The Statement Pieces

Both Montblanc Meisterstück Atelier Genuine Python and Montblanc Meisterstück Atelier Genuine Karung are four-piece collections. Though conceived for the sophisticated traveller, the sharp cut and

arresting, slim-line look of each item will lend a polished, flamboyance to the best dressed man’s wardrobe no matter what he sports - be it casuals, denim, leather, a business suit or black tie.

The business card holder has four pockets inside plus an outer back pocket. A horizontally designed wallet is complete with six pockets for credit cards and two deeper compartments for bank notes while another pocket conceals a removable case with slim pockets for business and credit cards. Maximizing its spaciousness, the vertical design of the oblong coat wallet incorporates 14 credit card pockets, two deep compartments for bank notes, an additional two pockets and a striking, spacious zipped pocket.

The Notebook is the thinking man’s ultimate travel accessory and, inside, features nine credit card pockets, a writing instrument loop and a refillable pad. It is divided into two sections: “Notes” with ruled, gilt-edged featherweight paper with a feint illustration of a fountain pen is for writing and “Sketches” featuring gilt-edged featherweight paper highlighted with the rendering of a mountain.

This light etching - like the soft gold-plated mother-of-pearl star emblem delicately embossing the Meisterstück Atelier accessories - honors the awe-inspiring range of Europe’s highest mountain - the Mont Blanc massif after which Montblanc is named. Such subtle touches symbolize the virtuosity of Montblanc’s craftsmanship as well as its commitment to producing luxury of the highest standard.
