Lootah lauds employees' role in DM's achievements

Engineer Hussein Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality said the civic body was able to achieve many big accomplishments during the past year with vital contribution from the employees, who played a major role in achieving great success in these initiatives.

Lootah was addressing the first family meeting of the Municipality employees during the year. The Director General heard the views, remarks and suggestions of the employees on the work during the meeting, which was attended by employees of different grades from various departments.
Lootah said during the meeting that the Municipality is one of the largest establishments that made distinctive accomplishments during the recent period with effective structural changes.

He said the Municipality always looks towards enhancement of corporate excellence and the development of employees so as not to make their performance a routine one.
Stressing the importance of the family meeting, Lootah said, it brings together the senior management and other employees to break the barriers and obstacles faced by the employees and ensures that they work under the umbrella of a single family in an appropriate environment that supports creativity and innovation and encourages their initiatives according to the guidance, framework and vision of the municipality.
He said the Municipality is keen to hold such meetings periodically with employees and inform them of the progress of work and closely listen to their suggestions and remarks without any barriers or obstacles as the civic body considers the employees as its basic pillar.
Lootah pointed out that the success of an establishment depends primarily on the staff, stressing the need to focus on them and listen to their views and support their efforts to do much more to serve the nation.
The Director General discussed with the municipal staff various topics and observations on the conduct of work and in turn responded to all questions and observations and the application of some of the proposals that contribute to the development of the service and work in the Municipality. He also instructed to study some cases and re-consider them in the interest of the employees.
It is worth mention that these meetings come as an implementation of the directives of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Municipality Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum on the efforts to meet the needs of the employees and to hear their views and observations about the progress of work and overcome the obstacles in front of them towards the support and development of the country.
