International Seminar on Logistics titled “New Trends in Logistics in Kochi


The Kerala State Productivity Council and FALCON Infrastructures Ltd. are jointly organizing, in association with the Government of Kerala, an International Seminar on Logistics titled “New Trends in Logistics – The Gateway to Fast Track Prosperity” as part of the Emerging Kerala Meet.
The entire nation has moved a big way in software and service sector and further development of manufacturing sector is very much essential for the comprehensive development. The Supply Chain Management Sector has to get evolved into global standards in professionalism for this. This is an area where we can gain core competencies and with highly intelligent and skilled human resource potential, we can create dynamic capabilities which will be on par with global standards. The meet will discuss the various ways to harness these strengths.  With the commissioning of the ‘Vallarpadom’ International Container Transshipment Terminal and with a number of other major projects coming up in the in this region,  requirement of Logistics facilities will increase tremendously and increased investment opportunities will be generated in  areas such as Logistics Parks, Warehousing stations, etc. This Seminar will also assess the Investment Opportunities in the Logistics field to attract national as well as international investment community to the State.
We expect about 200 delegates to attend this important Seminar.  Exhibition Stalls, showcasing products and services related to Logistics, Banks, Builders etc. are also arranged at the Venue.
The Seminar will be held at the Taj Gateway Hotel, Marine Drive, Ernakulam from 23rd to 25th August 2012.  Shri Oommen Chandy, Hon. Chief Minister will inaugurate the Seminar at 10.00 AM on 23rd August 2012.  Shri P K Kunhalikutty, Hon. Minister for Industries & IT will preside over the function and Shri K. Babu, Hon. Minister for Excise & Ports will be the Guest of Honour.
Shri K V Thomas, Hon. Minister for Food and Civil Supplies will be the Chief Guest at the Valedictory function, at 11.30 AM on 25th August 2012.
